For AEC design firms

Catch it before
the agency does.

CivilRisk IQ gives engineering firms an independent, sheet-referenced review of plans, technical reports and environmental documents before you submit, and sharper project insight before you pursue. 21 AI specialists find and organize the issues; an accountable engineer verifies what's released, and your team decides what changes.

Two ways firms use CivilRisk IQ

Cleaner submittals. Stronger pursuits.

Firms that add an independent quality layer deliver cleaner work, faster and for less, and then say so in their next proposal. Owners notice; competitors who don't will have to catch up.

Deliver

Pre-submittal QA/QC

An independent check of your package before it goes to Caltrans or the owner agency, so fewer comments come back and fewer resubmittal cycles eat your budget.

  • Plans at 30%, 60%, 95% and 100% PS&E, on or off the State Highway System
  • Design technical reports: geotechnical, structures, hydrology and drainage
  • Environmental documents and the technical studies inside them
  • Specifications, quantities and estimates checked against the plans

You receive Expert Comment Files on your sheets, a findings register and a Technical Findings Report.

Win

Pursuit & interview intelligence

Before the proposal, we review the records available to you and surface the consequential questions your approach should answer, so your team walks into the interview already knowing the project's risks.

  • Risks tied to coordination, staging, staffing and schedule assumptions
  • Talking points and thoughtful questions for the owner
  • Proposal-ready graphics your team reviews and approves
  • CRIQ in your proposal: independent quality review as a reason to choose your team

You receive a Proposal-Ready Graphics Pack, a Presentation / Interview Brief and a Project Risk Atlas.

Real findings from real plan sets

The kind of comment you want to find first.

How to read our examples: these are real candidates from CRIQ reviews of actual plan sets. Each shows its status; a candidate is a question for the design engineer, not a verified defect or a statement about current field conditions.

Where does the low point drain?

Sheet D-3 starts the swale at FL 1568.55. Sheet D-5 shows the low point at FL 1566.96 near I 311+90, then a rise to FL 1567.73 at the end: +0.77 ft over about 110 ft, with no inlet, underdrain or outlet identified on the compared sheets. A one-line question for the drainage designer now, instead of an agency comment later.

Clear the ground-anchor path

Anchor rows with 20 ft unbonded lengths sit near existing piles and widening footings; three-dimensional drilling clearance isn't shown on the plans (source PDF p. 259). Next check: plot anchor envelopes against foundation elements.

Check the temporary barrier gap

Sheet TH-02 ends a Type K railing run at Sta. 19+02.11; TH-01 begins one at 19+58.82 at nearly the same offset. If both apply to the same stage, the roughly 57 ft gap needs protection.

Questions design firms ask

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from our own QA/QC?

It adds an independent, discipline-by-discipline second check that reads every sheet and page of the package. Your QA/QC process and your engineer of record stay in charge; CivilRisk IQ gives your checkers a sheet-referenced head start before the agency sees the submittal.

How long does a review take?

A typical review takes 5 to 10 business days, depending on the size of the package and the agreed scope. Tell us your submittal date and we will plan the review around it.

What do we receive?

PDF comment files placed on your sheets that open in Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat, a findings register you can sort and assign, and a technical findings report. Pursuit work adds proposal-ready graphics and an interview brief. See report formats.

Who sees our documents?

Only the people you authorize. Files are stored per project with authorized access, confidentiality terms are agreed before anything is shared, and raw client documents never train models silently. Security & data.

Does AI make the final call?

No. AI specialists find and organize candidate issues, an accountable engineer verifies what CivilRisk IQ releases, and your engineers decide what changes in the design.

Does CivilRisk IQ compete with us for design work?

No. CivilRisk IQ is built by PrimeLine Civil Engineering, a project management firm that oversees design work done by other firms. We don’t design projects, so we never compete with you for design contracts.

Can we feature CivilRisk IQ in our proposals?

Yes, and we encourage it. An independent, AI-assisted quality review on every submittal shows owners that your team delivers higher-quality work, faster and for less.

Can you help on a pursuit before we have the full plans?

Yes. For pursuits we work from the records available to you, such as prior studies, environmental documents, as-builts and solicitation materials, and turn them into the consequential questions your approach should answer.
